Santa Fe Restaurants
I live in Santa Fe, NM, a small town with a highly-regarded food scene. There are plenty of sources on the Internet with reviews and information about area restaurants. The problem is that I often do not agree. In particular, places that I consider to have mediocre, boring and even bad food often get great reviews. Many of these disappointing places are pretty popular. So clearly there is a partial disconnect between my tastes and those of professional critics and the locals and the tourists. You should probably take all my opinions here with a big grain of salt.
Perhaps I am pickier than many others, but I fail to understand why a passionate chef who has cooked a dish hundreds, if not thousands, of times should not be able to dazzle me. At any rate, I’ll leave detailed critiques to the pros. A pro will likely visit a restaurant multiple times. I’ll try a place once, maybe twice, maybe more times if I get dragged there by friends.
I’ll first give you a list of my favorite places and why. As I try new places, I’ll add posts to the blog if I am impressed, positively or negatively.
